About Chess Opening Scores

Chess Opening Scores shows how games with popular chess openings turned out at each Lichess rating level and in each time control, using a reproducible sample of the Lichess open database.

Independence

Chess Opening Scores is an independent project. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Lichess. The data comes from the Lichess open database, which Lichess releases under the CC0 1.0 public-domain dedication.

The site currently shows no ads and contains no affiliate links.

How the pages are made

Pages are built by code from the sampled games, and every sentence on an opening page is generated from the numbers shown. The method, filters and limitations are explained on How it works.
